Terms of use & safety
Use at your own risk
RideLoadout (the app and this website) provides general information about bicycle repair, setup, fit and upgrades for learning purposes. It is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and is not a substitute for the instructions of your bicycle and component manufacturers or for a qualified bicycle mechanic. Working on a bicycle and riding one carry real risks, including serious injury. You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of any bike you work on.
Always follow the manufacturer
Your bike's and parts' manufacturers have the final word. Torque values, procedures, fluid types, wear limits, pressures and compatibility in RideLoadout are typical values and starting points that can differ by brand, model and year. Before you tighten, replace, adjust or ride, check the markings on the part and the maker's manual. If anything in RideLoadout disagrees with the manufacturer, follow the manufacturer.
Confirm your own measurements
Model specs, geometry, tire clearance, upgrade limits, fit suggestions and "fits / won't fit" results are estimates built from published data and typical bikes. Bikes vary and makers change parts without notice. Measure your own bike and confirm before you buy parts, change your setup or ride.
Know when to stop
If a repair is beyond your tools or experience, a part is cracked, bent or damaged, brakes do not work correctly, or you are unsure at any step, stop and take the bike to a professional bike shop. Never ride a bike you are not confident is safe. Test brakes, steering and quick releases or axles before every ride.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the makers of RideLoadout are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, the app or website, including damage to bicycles, parts or tools, or from purchases made through store links.
Rider reports
Fit reports, tips and photos from other riders are their own experience with their bike, not a guarantee for yours. Bikes and parts vary: check your own measurements and the maker’s specs.
Photos you share
If you send a photo, you confirm it is yours and shows only the bike (no people, faces, house numbers or license plates). You keep ownership and let RideLoadout show it on the site and app. Photos are checked before they appear, and we remove any photo on request. Location data is removed on your device before sending.
Stories you share
If you share an install or repair story, you confirm the text, photos and video are yours, that you are 13 or older, and that the photos show no faces, house numbers or license plates (hands are fine). You keep ownership and let RideLoadout show the story on the site and app, with the name you chose or "A rider". Stories are checked before they appear, may be shortened or declined, and are removed on request. A story is one rider’s experience, not instructions we have tested: your part maker’s manual and torque specs come first. No ads, affiliate links or contact details. Video links must point to your own video on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Vimeo.
Products and links
Store links are searches to help you find parts and tools; prices and availability change. Brand and model names belong to their owners, and RideLoadout is not affiliated with or endorsed by any bicycle or parts maker. If RideLoadout earns a commission from a store link in the future, this page will say so.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the bottom shows the latest version. Using RideLoadout means you accept the current terms.
