Schwinn Koen 20" SmartStart: specs, upgrades and what fits
A BMX-styled steel 20-inch kids' bike with Schwinn's SmartStart frame, a rear coaster brake plus a front single-pivot caliper hand brake, a threaded headset with quill stem and steel single-wall rims. My take, from the specs
A sturdy 20in neighborhood bike for kids about 7 to 10, with a coaster brake plus a front caliper hand brake. It is heavy at about 12.5 kg with steel single-wall rims and a tall minimum seat height, so size down if your child is between sizes. On a used one, check that the coaster brake engages firmly and the front caliper actually grips the rim.
